Max Pacioretty Signs Two-Year Deal with Habs

BREAKING NEWS: Max Pacioretty has signed a 2-year deal with the Montreal Canadiens. The deal is worth $1.5M in 2011-12, and $1.75 M in 2012-13 (cap hit = $1.625M), which will be great value if he plays like he was prior to his significant injury.

In an era of increasing technology speeds, Pacioretty actually broke the new himself first, tweeting:

Max Pacioretty

In the games prior to the season-ending hit into a stanchion by Zdeno Chara, Pacioretty had been on fire, with 17 points (including 11 goals) in his previous 19 games.

Habs fans have to hope that we will see the same Pacioretty next year, who skated like the wind and fearlessly crashed the net, bringing a big body presence that the team sorely needed to the top 6.

Pacioretty will still be an RFA at the end of the contract, so no need to worry about losing him in 2 years!
