Markov to Sign for 2 Years?

UPDATE 21/06/2011, 9:09 PM EST - Per M.A. Godin on Twitter, Don Meehan (Markov's agent) reports deal is not yet done. As Your Canadiens first surmised, Marinaro's announcement was pre-emptive. Deal may be close, but not finalized.
------------------------------
BREAKING NEWS: It is reported that the Montreal Canadiens are set to announce the signing of defenseman Andrei Markov for 2 years, at a total of $11.5M (cap hit of $5.75M, equal to his previous deal).

Assuming there is no last minute snafu, the deal will keep Markov from hitting the open market as an unrestricted free agent on July 1st. Details to come.

It should be noted the story's originator is Tony Marinaro of the Team 990, who has been wrong in the past. While it is likely a deal will get done in the near future, I'd recommend waiting on the final terms/details.
