Habs Development Camp Report - Day 1
Today began the Canadiens' second prospect development camp of the summer with - as we posted Monday - only 12 players in attendance. As mentioned, the small number of players on the ice allows for greater individual attention to each, and the Montreal brass took advantage of this with a one coach per 2 player ratio.
Your Canadiens was not on site today, but we are providing a collection of reports on today's activities from a variety of sources:

@sarah_connors @metricjulie Yes Brodeur is here as a tryout. Weak on skating drills.
And the article that went up on their site: http://www.allhabs.net/feature/beaulieu-bennett-in-the-spotlight-at-habs-development-camp/
Notable Quote: "Day One was all about skating drills. Beaulieu is a smooth skater but will need to increase his power and improve skating backwards. The player who was the most mobile and cruised with ease through the drills was defenseman Mac Bennett."
Articles - John McFadden
- Interview with camp invitee John McFadden
Notable Quote: "I could see myself in a Habs jersey." McFadden got five other invites from NHL teams, but felt the Canadiens was the best fit. "I got a few other invites, so I sat down with my agent and we thought that would be best," the 6-foot, 200-pound Guelph native said. "If I get to play for their farm team it's in Hamilton and real close to home."
- Release from his junior team, the Sudbury Wolves
Notable Quote: "Josh really matured as a player in the second-half of the season and he became a leader for us" noted Wolves' GM Blaine Smith. "Josh has always been an offensive defenceman but he really improved his defensive play and bought-into team concepts. I think the Montreal Canadiens have acquired one heck of a power play quarterback."
