Ryan White Signs 1-Year Deal
The Montreal Canadiens announced this morning that they have re-signed forward Ryan White to a one year contract. White has demonstrated his value in bringing sandpaper and sound defensive play to a fourth line over the last two seasons and has earned a one-way contract and regular spot in the line-up at a salary of $625,000.
Of the RFAs expected to make the team's opening night roster, only Josh Gorges remains to be signed. The contracts of Mathieu Carle and Frederic St. Denis must also be renewed for the Hamilton Bulldogs.
White, 23, played 27 regular season and 6 playoff games for the team last year, contributing just 5 points but most importantly delivering hard hits and stepping in to defend teammates. The 6'0" Manitoba native can play all 3 forward positions which should ensure he will have a 4th line spot throughout the season regardless of others.
