Chicago wanted a 2nd line centre but have since made a trade with Calgary. I would have sent Plekanec to Chicago for Beach and a 2nd round pick. Beach can produce some offence and is beig and nasty. True, he is rough around the edges, but he would look good on the 3rd line and was originally a centre. The 2nd round pick would not be a high one, but would still be valuable and since Plekanec was chosen in the 5th round, that would be a nice and fair return. If the Habs really wanted to take a chance, they could trade for Brassard. Desharnais plays with courage and is a homegrown talent and the Habs don't have enough homegrown players.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2890365497584281804.post-48951197400729725452012-01-28T07:46:29.685-05:002012-01-28T07:46:29.685-05:00See Dan? He scores points. He gets it. To stay in any league, put up the damn points.

I say stick with him until we draft, develop or trade for the Big C.

JeffAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2890365497584281804.post-70104035888888066492012-01-26T23:01:18.394-05:002012-01-26T23:01:18.394-05:00Why trade Desharnais? He is the player who shows the most heart during the games, game in and game out. I don't even know how you'd want to trade him. Plekanec, yes. But Desharnais? Let him develop. It's not being he was under the radar before that he's not talented.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2890365497584281804.post-27292751863189113792012-01-26T13:21:30.113-05:002012-01-26T13:21:30.113-05:00Good piece Dan.

I believe that the room for Desharnais has been maede already though (Cammalleri).
